EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Urban and Rural Planning (BURP) from Urban and Rural Planning Discipline, Khulna University at 2001 and obtained CGPA 3.34 out of 4 equivalent to 66.8%.
HSC from Government Brajalal College, Daulatpur under Jessore Board in Science group at 1996 and placed First Division.
SSC from Khulna Collegate School under Jessore Board in Science group at 1994 and placed first division with star.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
1. Currently engaged as a research assistant in an NGO named Bangladesh Centre for Human Welfare and Sustainable Development (BCHWSD) which currently carrying out research project titled “Fishermen community of Kuakata (a remote coastal area of Bangladesh): strategies for their sustenance in an era of globalization” funded by Department for International Development (DFID).
Duties: GIS data collection, processing and analysis; land use map preparation; designing, publishing and maintenance of website; database designing, maintenance and analysis; socioeconomic data collection and analysis.
2. Engaged as GIS analyst in a project during April, 2000 to October, 2001 titled “Shrimp Culture and Changes of Land Use Pattern in the Coastal Area of Bangladesh: A Spatio-Temporal Analysis” conducted by Urban and Rural Planning Discipline, Khulna University, Khulna, Bangladesh funded by World Bank.
Duties: GIS data entry and processing, statistical analysis and interpretation, GIS analysis, remote sensing analysis for digital image, land use map preparation and report writing.
3. Engaged as GIS analyst in a project during January 2001 to June 2001 titled “Sundarban Biodiversity Conservation Project (SBCP), Forest Department, Khulna: Report on Socio-economic Baseline Study on the Impact Zone of the Sundarban” conducted by Urban and Rural Planning Discipline, Khulna University, Khulna, Bangladesh funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Government of the Netherlands.
Duties: GIS data entry and processing, map Preparation and Presentation.
4. Completed an academic internship program in Surface Water Modelling Centre (SWMC), Dhaka (during June 2000) the tropics covered there are:
i. Introduction to GIS Functions and Concepts.
ii. Data Model of PC Arclnfo.
iii. Database Concepts and Commercial Tools.
iv. Projection Transformation and Topology Concepts.
v. TIN Concepts, Contours and GRlDs.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
1. Research assistant, in project titled “Fishermen community of Kuakata (a remote coastal area of Bangladesh): strategies for their sustenance in an era of globalization” funded by Department for International Development (DFID).
Major activities of the project:
i. Study of tourism development at Kuakata.
ii. Participatory Research Appraisal (PRA) with the Fishermen and local people.
iii. Case studies and interviews of the tourists and fishermen.
iv. Questionnaire survey of the fishermen.
v. Developing strategies for sustenance of the fishermen community of Kuakata.

2. Bachelor dissertation research, Urban and Rural Planning Discipline, School of Science Engineering and Technology, Khulna University, Khulna, Bangladesh at 2001.
Title: Prospect and efficiency of GIS data models in planning applications – A case study on Khulna City.
Objectives:
i. To find out the prospect of different spatial data models to solve planning problems.
ii. To identify the level of efficiency of the data models to solve the problems.
iii. To develop efficiency matrix of different data models for different planning applications.
Applications Conducted:
i. Vector Data Model Application: Site selection for cinema in Khulna City as a recreational facility for low income people.
ii. Raster Data Model Application: Air pollution intensity mapping of Khulna City as health risk to urbanites.
iii. TIN Data Model Application: 3D visualization of urban setting based on TIN data model with Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and Virtual Reality Modelling Language (VRML).
